Beer Tastings and Education

The Story

My name is Ben Hock and I’m a Certified Cicerone® and homebrewer. I love to share my excitement and knowledge about beer with anyone who’s interested.

I started Brewdex as an iPhone app in 2014 when I was studying for the Certified Cicerone® exam. It featured all the beer styles from the Beer Judge Certification Program’s style guide, and included notes about each one, including flavor profile, history, food pairings and commercial examples. The name was inspired by a Rolodex (and the Pokédex from Pokémon, TBH…) because it was meant to house a wealth of knowledge about each style of beer.

Now, Brewdex will evolve into an online resource for beer tastings and education where I’ll share videos and information about my favorite drink. You can also inquire about live beer tastings with me either virtually or in person (Denver Metro area only). Cheers!
