The Best Beers I Had in March 2026
In March, I hosted a St. Patrick’s Day beer tasting featuring Irish Stouts and Irish Red Ale, but a different red ale stuck out for me—Bull & Bush’s Colorado Barrel Collective #9 Ruby Baggins Port Barrel Aged Imperial Red IPA. I can say with certainty that I’ve never had a beer that ticks all those style boxes at once, and I loved it.

Dame Blanche
Bruz Beers
Belgian Wheat Ale/Witbier, 5.5% ABV
I love a good Witbier, and Bruz does a great job balancing the orange peel and coriander to create a refreshing, flavorful beer that you can enjoy again and again.

Another
Comrade Brewing
American Pale Ale, 6.4% ABV
A delicious American Pale Ale hopped with Elani, Chinook, Motueka, El Dorado and Strata. Toast, lemon zest, fruit cocktail and a little caramel on the nose. Bitterness is balanced with malt sweetness and fruity hops. Another winner from Comrade.

DuaL IPA
Comrade Brewing
Imperial IPA, 9.9% ABV
Apparently not a lot of folks got the reference and were calling this “Dual IPA” instead of “Dua Lipa.” No matter how you say it, this beer is fantastic. It explodes with sweet and tart berry flavor. Pine and papaya are there. The aftertaste is like berries and cream. Dank, but super clear and clean.

Ruby Baggins
Bull & Bush Brewery
Port Barrel Aged Imperial Red IPA, 8.8% ABV
Cascade, Citra and Centennial hops add some citrusy, piney bitterness to the strong malt base of this big beer. The port barrels add to the depth and sweetness of the malt. I’ve never had a beer quite like it.

Cherry Kriek
Strange Craft Beer Company
Belgian Blonde Ale with Cherries, 5% ABV
When I think of Strange, I immediately think of this beer. It’s so distinctive and delicious. I can’t imagine going to Strange and not having at least a taste of Cherry Kriek. It’s not overly sweet, but the cherry flavor and aroma are instantly evident. It tasted even better than usual after the short walk to Strange from the Denver Summit home opener at Empower Field.
