The Best Beers I Had in August 2025

In August, I visited a handful of breweries, went to some concerts and even managed to enjoy some great beers at Disneyland (which was needed 😳). These are the three beers I drank in August that were the most memorable.

Final Summit French Saison from Outer Ranger Brewing

Final Summit

Outer Range Brewing
French-Style Farmhouse Ale, 7% ABV

My dad and I ski at Copper Mountain, and after almost every ski day we stop at Outer Range in Frisco for a beer (or two or three). I tend to grab some to-go beers. This was one that was hiding in my fridge and still great a few months after purchase. This beer has a sweet and fruity nose that’s reminiscent of pear, apricot, hay and coriander. It has a sweet honey taste that’s balanced by a sharp spiciness. Another excellent beer from Outer Range.

Party On Pilsner from Belching Beaver Brewing

Party On Pilsner

Belching Beaver Brewery
German Pilsner, 5.5% ABV

Ever since I first tried Belching Beaver’s beers on a trip to San Diego years ago, they’ve been one of my favorite Southern California breweries and one of many reasons to visit the Ocean Beach neighborhood. They get a lot of attention for their Peanut Butter Milk Stout, but I loved this German Pilsner. Maybe it tasted better after long days at Disneyland with my family, but it was crisp, grassy, earthy and a little spicy – characteristics I look for in a German Pilsner.

Blind Pig IPA from Russian River Brewing

Blind Pig

Russian River Brewing Company
American IPA, 6.25% ABV

This was my pre-game beer before seeing My Morning Jacket at Red Rocks, and it was a great way to start the night. Blind Pig is a classic American IPA – citrusy, piney, woody. I’ve had it many times, and I always enjoy it.
