The Best Beers I Had in June 2025
In June, I went on my annual Baseball and Beers Trip with my dad. This year, we visited St. Louis, a city bursting with brewing (and baseball) history. We were able to visit 20 breweries in four days and sampled dozens of great beers. Here are my favorites from the trip in order of when we visited each brewery.

Passing Clouds
Rockwell Beer Company
Witbier, 4.6% ABV
They use three different types of wheat to create a soft mouthfeel that complements the orange and coriander flavors beautifully. This was my first beer after we landed in St. Louis and I couldn’t have been happier.

Stammtisch
Urban Chestnut Brewing Company
German Pilsner, 5.4% ABV
A delicious, traditional German Pilsner featuring a blend of Hallertau and Strisselspalt hops, which gives it an herbal and spicy aroma. It’s crisp, dry and perfect for drinking with friends on a hot summer day. This is a great example of the style.

La Petite Kriek
Side Project Brewing
Missouri Saison with Cherries, 6% ABV
This is a bit of a two-for-one. At Side Project, I tried the Flanders Red (front in the photo) and the Kriek (back). Both were wonderful, but the Kriek really stuck with me. It’s an Oak Aged Brettanomyces Lager which was then finished on a blend of Michigan Montmorency and Balaton Cherries. The color is beautiful and the tartness is well balanced with malt and cherry sweetness. I experienced a hint of coconut flavor that I found really enjoyable.

Vacation Dad
Perennial Artisan Ales
Blonde Ale, 4.7% ABV
While all three of the beers I tried are pictured here (and all were delicious), my favorite at Perennial was the Vacation Dad. Maybe it’s because I was literally a dad on vacation, but it suited me perfectly on a hot day in St. Louis. A simple grain bill mixed with subtle, citrusy hops created a refreshing beer I would gladly revisit repeatedly.

American Brown Ale
Civil Life Brewing Company
American Brown Ale, 4.8% ABV
Overall, Civil Life was my favorite brewery in St. Louis for its combination of great atmosphere, friendly and knowledgable staff and excellent beer. This Brown Ale (along with everything else we tried) was exceptional. Malty, caramely and toasty with hints of citrus, chocolate and dark roasted coffee. Brilliant.

Kölsch
Schlafly
Kölsch, 4.8% ABV
I love a Kölsch, and this was one of the best I’ve had. Their Kölsch uses a centuries old yeast strain sourced from a famous Kölsch brewer in Köln, Germany. It has the delicate fruity aroma of an ale with the crisp, clean finish of a lager. It’s brewed with lightly roasted malt and 100% German Perle and Hallertau hops to build on the floral and fruity aroma of the beer. Schlafly is the OG St. Louis craft brewery and this is an OG Kölsch.

Heli’s Helles
Great Heart Brewing Company
Helles Lager, 5% ABV
There is a lot of German beer in St. Louis, but this place makes you feel like you’re actually in Bavaria. This is one of their two Helles Lagers, and it was just as refreshing and crisp as I expected it to be. It has a bready malt character balanced by hint of fruity aroma from Helios and Tango hops. It only just opened in 2025, but if you’re in St. Louis, Great Heart is a must-visit.
